Important Notice: HCV (Section 8) Funding During Government Shutdown

Dear Residents,

We want to assure you that despite the ongoing federal government shutdown, Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority is continuing to operate and provide services. Here are key updates regarding Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher funding:

What You Need to Know

  • Rental assistance payments are continuing as scheduled. HUD has confirmed that
    funding is available through at least November 2025.
  • There is no immediate impact on your housing assistance or rent payments.
  • Our team is working closely with HUD to monitor funding and ensure uninterrupted
    service.

What Could Change

  • If the shutdown continues beyond November, there may be delays in contract
    renewals or new voucher issuances.
  • Administrative processes may be slower due to reduced federal staffing.

What We’re Doing

  • We are actively managing our budget and reserves to maintain operations.
  • We are preparing contingency plans to minimize any disruption.
  • We will keep you informed of any changes as soon as they occur.
